Ken Nordine, nationally known voice-over and commercial recording artist, is featured in a new local production that is the work of Uniontown resident Carl Palmer of Wild Life Media. KEN NORDINE: VIDEO FOR THE EAR celebrates Chicago’s oldest living hipster and original beatnik. Musical and performance artist Laurie Anderson provides narration for the production.

Through World War II veterans’ personal accounts of real life during the war, this short-film series honors their sacrifices. It also offers younger generations an understanding of what it was like to live through the war and an opportunity to learn from it.

Veterans of America—Our Heroes in Uniform: They Served Too

The story of female veterans is as varied as the story of females in all walks of life. This 30-minute local production highlights many of the challenges and successes of area women in uniform. 

The show also speaks about Sharon Lane, a Canton resident who was the first female casualty of the Vietnam War. In addition, it touches on female veterans’ high rate of homelessness and how Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro has gotten involved in helping homeless female veterans.
