Winner of a Central Great Lakes Emmy Award for Talent: Performer, Host Narrator

Award-winning host Jake Kouwe and the Chardon Polka Band continued to enthuse audiences with their informative antics and polka tunes in this fan-favorite variety show. In fiscal year 2025, the series returned with a second six-episode season as well as a Halloween special, THE WORLD ACCORDING TO POLKA HALLOWEEN SPOOK-TACULAR.

Season 2 and the accompanying Halloween special were both accepted for national distribution through the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), meaning broadcast rights to the show are now available to more than 200 public media stations! PBS Western Reserve is proud to introduce new audiences to polka and the rich culture that defines the genre and our region.
