Creature Powers Coding at Liberty Library

Activate Creature Powers! Inspired by the "Wild Kratts" television show, this program will challenge children ages 5 - 8 to create projects that explore different animals and their unique behaviors and traits using the coding and programming app, PBS KIDS ScratchJr.

Join PBS Western Reserve for our fun Seismic Shake-up Exploration to learn the science of earthquakes and design your own structure using simple materials, then test it on a shake table that simulates earthquake vibrations. This hands-on STEM activity encourages you to use creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork to strengthen your model and survive the challenge! Presented by PBS Western Reserve.

Akron Bicentennial “Feature the Future” Exhibition

Lock 3, 200 S Main St., Akron, OH
PBS Western Reserve invites people of all ages to celebrate the city of Akron’s bicentennial with Lyla from LYLA IN THE LOOP and a special digital scavenger hunt!
On Saturday, July 5, a day of celebration will kick off with a parade through the city at 10 AM, followed by the Feature the Future event in Lock 3 park from 11 AM to 4 PM. PBS Western Reserve will attend “Feature the Future” with the opportunity to play a fun digital scavanger hunt and meet Lyla from the PBS KIDS show LYLA IN THE LOOP.

Work It Out Wombats
Wednesday, July 9, from 2 AM to 3 PM
Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren
Children ages 3-5 will play games and engage in hands-on activities to tackle challenges that encourage problem-solving, teamwork and creative play. Participants will earn Wombuddy Badge as a reward.

Ramp and Roll PreK-2
Wednesday, Aug 5, from 10 AM to 11 AM
Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library, 3512 Darrow Road, Stow
Children will discover the science of motion by investigating how objects roll, slide or stay put on different surfaces. They will experiment with ramps to learn how slope affects movement and collaborate to build their own ramp creations.
