Solid as a Rock

Imagine a concert with Chuck Berry, Little Richard, the “killer” Jerry Lee Lewis and Bo Diddley. Add to the lineup the Doors. It really happened in Toronto back in 1969. Old met new and the craziest part was the last-minute surprise guest: John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band. Talk about rock ’n’ roll royalty; this show had it all! Find out how the concert came to be and watch the highlights in REVIVAL69: THE CONCERT THAT ROCKED THE WORLD, airing Monday at 9:30 PM on PBS Western Reserve.

I’ve only seen the Rolling Stones once — but it was unforgettable. It was in St. Louis sometime in the ‘80s (details are scarce to protect the not-so-innocent) and the show was outstanding. Mick and Keith are still at it and I’m not asking how they do it. Maybe you can figure it out in a great show of theirs from 2012, THE ROLLING STONES: GRRR LIVE! Yes, it has all the hits and some surprise guests including Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga and John Mayer. Join us this Wednesday at 9:30 PM on PBS Western Reserve.

Want more rock ’n’ roll? How about Bob Dylan, Bryan Adams, Carole King, James Taylor, Elton John, Roy Orbison or Billy Joel? They’re all waiting for you on PBS Passport to watch whenever you want. Passport comes with your PBS Western Reserve membership. Join right here and if you’re already a member, activate your Passport. No special backstage pass is required!

Steve Graziano

Steve creates the PBS Western Reserve television schedules. Long before finding great programs for you to watch he was a radio DJ. He and his wife are avid travelers, preferring unusual vacation spots such as Cuba and Budapest and sailing across the Atlantic (on an ocean liner, not a sailboat). Tops on his list of famous people he’s met is Fred Rogers. A close second is Mick Jagger or maybe Elton John. His favorite PBS show is “Sherlock Holmes” with Jeremy Brett. Or with Benedict Cumberbatch. It’s a toss-up, he says. Either way, he loves looking for new and interesting programs to share with you.
