Are you a daydream believer? If so, you probably remember Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees. He’s got a great program coming up with performances by Glen Campbell, Lesley Gore, Paul Revere and the Raiders — and a lot more. We’re taking you back to the glory days of AM radio in AMERICAN POP FLASHBACK this Monday at 8 PM.
Two other names from that time are guaranteed to ring a bell: Carole King and James Taylor. (They were equally as big on FM radio.) We have a documentary coming up that shows how they’ve worked together over the years — and it has performances from when they toured together. You’ll hear “It’s Too Late,” “I Feel the Earth Move” “and “So Far Away” from Carole King. James Taylor sings “Fire and Rain,” “Shower the People,” “Your Smiling Face” and “Carolina in My Mind.” CAROLE KING & JAMES TAYLOR: JUST CALL OUT MY NAME airs this Thursday at 8 PM on PBS Western Reserve.
We have hundreds more music specials to watch whenever you want — thanks to PBS Passport. AUSTIN CITY LIMITS, GREAT PERFORMANCES and the Ken Burns documentaries COUNTRY MUSIC and JAZZ, to name a few.
