American Adventures and Island Escapades

I hope you got to see Ken Burns’ latest documentary, AMERICAN BUFFALO. Like all his films, this one did not disappoint. Even if you think, “four hours about buffalo?” trust me — it’s well worth your time. If you missed it, you’re in luck because we have it again this Sunday afternoon. It’s the perfect day to learn about this magnificent creature, the people who survived because of it and those who almost drove it to extinction. See both episodes of THE AMERICAN BUFFALO this Sunday starting at 1 PM on PBS Western Reserve.
November is Native American Heritage Month, but we’re starting early this year. PBS Western Reserve is pleased to bring you NATIVE AMERICA — a four-part series that introduces us to members of today’s Indigenous communities. From artists to engineers, see how they are living links between the past and the present. It begins Tuesday at 9 PM on PBS Western Reserve.
From here at home, we take off on a grand adventure with an old friend. Martin Clunes, who plays the titular character in DOC MARTIN, is headed to Polynesia, the Galapagos and Vanuatu. He’s as surprised as you’ll be when you see people swimming with sharks and climbing active volcanoes. (Both are a hard “no” for me.) You can see MARTIN CLUNES: ISLANDS OF THE PACIFIC at the same time as you’ve been watching DOC MARTIN — Thursdays at 8 PM and next Saturday at 9 PM. Don’t worry, Doc Martin will be back with an all-new season this December.
Leave it to us at PBS Western Reserve to find interesting people and places to meet and visit. We’re able to do it with your generous support. If you’re not yet a member, just sign up here — and your new adventure as a PBS Western Reserve member begins!
