Washington Week 2020 Election Special

Friday, Oct. 30, at 8 PM

Repeats Friday, Oct. 31, at 1 PM

In the first half-hour, Robert Costa will cover breaking news in the days leading up to the general election, setting up the decisions facing the nation by taking us into America’s great divide. Robert Costa will tap the country’s top political correspondents reporting on the state of the race. These journalists will break down the issues driving the electorate, while political analysts employ the latest polling data to provide the state of key races around the country. Guests include: Kristen Welker, White House Correspondent for NBC News and Co-Anchor of Weekend TODAY; Dan Balz, Chief Correspondent for The Washington Post; and Yamiche Alcindor, White House Correspondent for the PBS NEWSHOUR.

In the second half-hour, after a brief recap for viewers just tuning in, Robert will take our audience on the road through Pennsylvania, one of the key swing states that voted for President Trump in 2016. That year, he traveled through Pennsylvania, reporting on voters from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. His report, just two days before the 2016 election, was prescient, revealing a large swath of Trump signs dotting the industrial part of the state. Now, almost four years later, Robert will talk to some of the same people he encountered to see how they are faring. In the middle of the current pandemic, economic collapse and reckoning over race, what will Pennsylvania’s landscape look like now?
