Families with dreams of escaping the demands of the modern world face the challenge of their lives as they head back more than 100 years to try to make a living in a fishing community at the start of the 20th century.

For one month, four families are exposed to the extremities of the wild waters and unpredictable weather on Llanddwyn, a beautiful, uninhabited tidal island off the coast of Anglesey. THE 1900 ISLAND is the story of everyday survival, struggle, family conflict and a community coming together.
