PBS Western Reserve Documentary Tells the Inspiring Story of a Cleveland Heights Park

“Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park: A New Beginning” premieres exclusively on PBS Western Reserve on Friday, Dec. 12, at 8:30 PM.

Kent, OH — Dec. 8, 2025 — In the early ‘90s, a Cleveland Heights community brought over 400 volunteers together to build Coventry PEACE Park, conquering bad weather and construction surprises for an enduring public space. Today, the playground stands newly revitalized with help from the Cleveland Heights Library. “Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park: A New Beginning” tells the journey of the beloved community park through archival footage and interviews with volunteers.

“The story of the people who built the PEACE park is incredible,” says Hemlock Films’ Kara White, the co-producer and director of the film. “The amount of work and dedication that went into providing a fun, safe space for their community is just inspiring.”

“Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park: A New Beginning” will premiere exclusively on PBS Western Reserve on Friday, Dec. 12, at 8:30 PM. Following its broadcast premiere, the documentary will be available on demand through the PBS Western Reserve website, PBS App, and YouTube.

See a preview for the film and read a Q&A with Kara White at PBSWesternReserve.org.
